Goblins, Dragons, and Cartoons invade Revel ABQ

On a Friday night that’s sure to stick in the memories of metalheads across Albuquerque, Revel ABQ played host to an electrifying convergence of sound, spectacle, and sheer entertainment.  The lineup? None other than Nekrogoblikon, DragonForce, and Dethklok!

Nekrogoblikon kicked things off with humor and energy. Led by their charismatic head goblin, they had the crowd laughing then headbanging along to their unique brand of metal madness. Their mix of humor and heavy riffs left everyone craving more.

Next up, the stage was set ablaze by none other than DragonForce, known for their lightning-fast guitar solos and epic power metal anthems. They took the audience on a sonic journey with hits like “Through the Fire and Flames” and “Power of the Triforce.” Their stage setup included two giant arcade cabinets where band members ascended to new heights to show off their guitar skills, while two massive dragon heads in the background added to the spectacle.

Headlining the night was Dethklok, the fictional metal band from Metalocalypse, promoting their latest cinematic venture, “Army of the Doomstar.” They brought their animated insanity to life with an awe-inspiring stage setup—huge screens showing scenes from their cartoon adventures, with subtitles for some songs, adding to the vibe (and accessibility for those who benefit from it), and even multiple appearances from the show’s logo/mascot – Facebones!

As the night went on, Revel ABQ was alive with energy as metalheads from all over soaked up the atmosphere. The venue was packed to the brim, with fans on the floor and in the balconies, making for a perfect setting for a night of unbridled chaos and excellent music.

And of course, we have to remark on the mosh pit, a whirlwind of excitement that raged through Dethklok’s set. As the band’s antics played out on the screens, fans lost themselves in a frenzy of headbanging and camaraderie, united by their love for all things metal.

But even with all the madness, Revel ABQ stayed welcoming and fun. While the main event played out on stage, patrons could still be found enjoying the bar and other amenities, proving that Revel ABQ is more than just a music venue—it’s a place for good times all around.

In the end, as the final chords faded away and the mosh pit calmed down, one thing was clear: the concert at Revel ABQ featuring Nekrogoblikon, DragonForce, and Dethklok wasn’t just a show—it was an experience that those lucky enough to attend will never forget.
